The culture of food and characteristic dining experiences have had a significant impact on the development of rural communities and the tourism industry in Taiwan. These experiences attract tourists seeking unique and stress-relieving leisure experiences, promoting the development of the tourism industry. Not only do they offer opportunities for food tasting, but they also allow visitors to gain a deeper understanding of local culture and lifestyle, promoting interpersonal connections and family bonding. First, operators in the food and beverage business must provide better dining experiences and improve service quality to increase customer satisfaction and repeat purchases. The emphasis on the use of local ingredients and the planning of characteristic dining experiences, as well as creating a favorable environment and offering packaged itineraries, allows travelers to enjoy sensory and spiritual satisfaction. These measures can improve tourists' impressions and evaluations of the local area, attracting more visitors to experience and consume, promoting rural community development and tourism industry prosperity. This study applied importance-performance analysis (IPA) to analyze the importance and performance of characteristic dining experiences and develop different market strategies for operators in the food and beverage business. In addition, it assists the operator understand needs and expectations, offering products and services to meet customer needs, increasing customer satisfaction, repeat purchases, and promoting the development of the tourism industry and the prosperity of rural communities. The results revealed that food culture and characteristic dining experiences have a significant impact on the development of rural communities and the tourism industry in Taiwan. Operators must focus on improving dining experiences, service quality, and the use of local ingredients, that is, planning characteristic dining experiences, creating a favorable environment, and offering packaged itineraries to attract more visitors to experience and consume.
