During the weightlifting exercise, the player will lift the barbell and fall on the ground or the current wooden exercise mats, which will cause huge noise and ground vibration due to the barbell impact, thus affecting the surrounding personnel. Rubber materials are usually used as the absorber for vibration damper and sound insulation of machine equipment and building materials. Porous material are widely used as sound absorbing materials. Therefore, in this study, a hybrid exercise mat composed of rubber materials and porous non-woven fabrics was investigated to increase vibration damping and noise absorption. The material properties of the rubber with different hardness are firstly measured, and two layers of the mats with different hardness structures are designed. This design mat can effectively reduce vibration and meet the performance requirements of the users.
