在古代透過焚燒烽火台煙幕傳遞外敵入侵的消息，而現今煙幕作戰可以阻擾敵方人員入侵沙灘，也可以使令敵方找不到攻擊目標，達到掩蔽重要建築設施的功效，因此也成為重要戰略手段。因此本論文所製發煙機以小型渦輪引擎與感測器為基礎，以便清楚掌握發煙機狀態。同時本實驗室開發出一套煙幕陣地佈署圖與指管系統，將氣象資訊及掩護目標位置等資訊計算出各個最佳發煙地點並且透過LoRa通訊模組指派發煙機，而指揮官可以利用指管系統下達發煙命令或是遠端控制各台發煙機進行發煙，以達人員掩護的目的，減少兵員傷亡。
