From 2012 to 2022, a total of 54 occupational accidents about presses occurred in the three municipalities of New Taipei City, Taoyuan City and Taichung City. Regardless of control methods are similar or not, most of occupational disasters are caused by the lack of effective safety protection. In particular, the 11 disasters of the full revolution presses, except for 2 cases that did not operate under the condition of power failure according to regulations, 8 cases even had no safety protection device. The other 1 case made the safety device invalid. This shows the importance of safety devices. In this study, a pneumatic interlocking guard was designed by referring to the patents of relevant safety devices. The construction examples of safety devices and the safety standards of mechanical equipment. Using the pneumatic cylinder to pull the shield as the basis for starting a cycle, a cycle cannot be started until the shield reaches the bottom. In a cycle, there is no possibility of hands entering the dangerous range. The pneumatic interlocking guard is built together with the two-hand trips, which can improve the limitation of the setting distance of the two-hand trips, and can also prevent the harm caused by switching to the invalid state. Because the mechanical structure of the full revolution presses is more dangerous than other types of presses. The safety device setting is weaker than other types of presses. If you want to use it, you must refer to this study to use the interlocking guard for construction, so as to make the safe operation with full revolution presses.
