This research is based on assisting traditional bamboo products manufacturers, and the goal is to develop an automated bamboo toothbrush handle production equipment. Up to now, domestic related industries are still using manual manufacturing methods, and the process is to use traditional machinery and equipment via a single fixation by imitation. In order to solve the problem that the production process is time-consuming and labor-intensive, and the output and quality are unstable, the manufacturer is in short supply of products. Therefore, the manufacturer aims to improve the automation of the process equipment to reduce a large number of manual operation modes, and introduce the intelligent machine human-machine technology for establishing production management to integrate the real-time monitoring data of the production process. This research is developing an automated bamboo toothbrush handle manufacturing equipment, which consists of a base mechanism, a feeding system, a discharging system, a dual-spindle system, an exchange clamping system and a dust cover, etc. The electronic control system is SYNTEC controller to make the two-axis machining process. The maximum output of this equipment can reach 4PCS/min, and it can produce about 1,500 pieces during the whole day. In addition, the human-machine production data records are imported into the equipment operation process, and the graphical programming language of LabVIEW is used to compose communication programs and human-machine interface by connecting the signal transmission between the computer hardware and the controller through RS-485 with Modbus RTU communication protocol. The human-machine interfaces display the production status of the equipment in real time. The results of this research, the quality and output of the product can be improved, and the cost of manpower operation can be reduced, so as to achieve the advantages of high efficiency, high quality and high output process.
