The concept of “loss” is typically associated with negative emotions, as it brings about sadness and even pain. Whether it’s losing material possessions like a wallet, ending a friendship on a sour note, going through a breakup due to incompatibility, or facing the sudden departure of a loved one, loss is an inevitable part of life that can be challenging to deal with. While some losses can be recovered, there are certain losses that seem destined and irreversible. As we grow, we encounter more farewells and losses, but in the even midst of the sorrow, we can embrace loss and embark on a journey of self-healing. With the above-mentioned perspectives in mind, the present study focuses on creating a picture book that explores healing in the face of loss, offering a pathway to self-recovery. The creation delves into the concept of “loss” and draws upon various literature, including “picture books,” “healing picture books,” the “Kübler-Ross Model,” and “case analysis” as the foundation for the creative process. The purpose of this creation is to convey the inevitability of loss as a part of personal growth. By creating a picture book centered around loss, readers are encouraged to acknowledge and accept that loss is a natural occurrence in life. Through reading the book, readers can find solace and healing for themselves, even if a full recovery is not possible. The book serves as a soothing balm, providing a momentary respite for the soul and instilling the strength to continue moving forward.
