Nowadays, automobiles are an indispensable means of transportation among human beings. Due to the high population and automobile density in Taiwan, the automobile traffic accident rate is also relatively high. In addition, the consumption pattern of modern consumers has changed and consumer awareness has risen, therefore, today's consumers pay great attention to the automobile repair quality issues. This study uses Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) to improve the repire quality of the automotive sheet metal working and painting process. By collecting potential failure modes, potential failure effects, and potential failure causes in the process of automotive sheet metal working and painting, an expert questionnaire is designed and sent to specific experts for filling. After performing the statistical analysis of the collected questionnaires, the top eight items with the highest Risk Priority Number (RPN) are identified for improvement, and preventive solutions and improvement countermeasures are proposed. Finally, the effect before and after improvement is compared, so as to achieve the best repair quality with the least consumables, the most time saving, and the lowest manpower.
