RV reducer is a transmission system with high reduction ratio, which is a new type of transmission developed on the basis of Cycloid Drive. It has a series of advantages such as small size, light weight, high efficiency, strong impact resistance, large torque, small vibration, high reduction ratio, small transmission error, and high accuracy. Therefore, many robots adopt RV reducers to substitute Harmonic Drive in the 1st and 2nd Axle. The purpose of this research is the R&D of RV reducer. This research proposes double-arc tooth profile to replace the cycloidal profile and needles to solve the accuracy error and assembly problems caused by the old design. In this study, the ring gear has 40 teeth, yaw gear has 39 teeth, the eccentricity is set to be 1.35mm, the planet gear has 24 teeth, and sun gear has 12 teeth. In this design, the double-arc tooth cutters are proposed for the manufacturing of double-arc profile ring gear and yaw gear. The results of this paper will reduce assembling process and manufacturing cost.
