This study uses modeling as an approach to develop teaching materials for device wiring in Class C indoor wiring and Class C industrial wiring instructions, with the objective of improving the weaknesses in the traditional teaching method and teaching materials. In the improved teaching materials, large amounts of graphics of components and circuits are used to replace text explanations and utilized in the demonstrative instruction. The instructor would use practical graphics as an aid to strengthen the learning effectiveness of learners. With regard to questions about device wiring in Class C indoor wiring and Class C industrial wiring certification exams, the instructor would explain the common wiring errors caused by unfamiliarity or negligence and provide solutions. This can improve the learning effectiveness of learners, reduce repeated teaching by the instructor, and alleviate the stress in both the instructor and students. Besides, when students take the certification exams in the future, they can also largely reduce wiring errors in device wiring and achieve a higher pass rate.
