The vegetarian population in Taiwan in recent years has been gradually growing up. According to the “Almanac of Food Consumption Survey in Taiwan 2008” in Taiwan at present the vegetarian population accounts for 10% of the total population. However, due to the fact that the eating preference of vegetarians is different from that of general population; therefore, vegetarians have gradually developed their own lifestyle. No matter what any kind of lifestyle is, it must has social support. Indeed, vegetarians’ lifestyle also need social support, but not all vegetarians’ lifestyle will get the support of those people who are around them. Thus, this research uses questionnaire to investigate vegetarians’ lifestyle and the impact of social support on life satisfaction. According to this research, vegetarians’ lifestyle can be divided into four types: “Early-adopters type”, “Influencing type”, “Practice-based type” and “Generalized type”. Social support can respectively be divided into four categories: “Type of befriending”, “Type of partners’ Support”, “Type of high support” and “Type of family’s support”. Life satisfaction can be divided into three categories: “Type of satisfied mind”, “Type of happy life” and “Type of daily life’s satisfaction”. Lastly, the results are as follows, First, different vegetarians’ lifestyle have an obvious difference on life satisfaction. “Early-adopters type”, “Practice-based type” and “Generalized type” can make life increase satisfaction; “Generalized type” relatively cannot improve life satisfaction. Second, different social supports have an obvious difference on life satisfaction. “Type of high support” and “Type of family’s support” can raise life satisfaction. In those types, the result of “Type of high support” is obvious, which represents that “Type of high support” is the key about the improvement of life satisfaction. “Type of befriending” and “Type of partners’ Support” are unable to enhance life satisfaction, but “Type of partners’ Support” is not the main reasons of reducing life satisfaction.
