本研究使用1981、1987、1992、及1993、1996、1999年行政院主計處人力運用調查為資料來源，並以Duncan 相異指數（Index of dissimilarity）及樣本數標準化相異指數（size-standardized index of dissimilarity），分析台灣地區兩性職業區隔的程度與變遷，研究發現我國兩性職業區隔的程度，在近二十年間呈下降的趨勢。經進一步就樣本區分工作結構分析發現，在次要勞動市場中，兩性職業區隔程度日漸舒緩，而在高層主要及基層主要勞動市場中則呈現惡化的現象。在核心產業及邊陲產業方面，兩性職業區隔在核心產業中呈現明顯下降的趨勢，但在邊陲產業則呈現不規則的情形。以城鄉間的比較發現，鄉村地區兩性職業區隔的趨勢呈現下降趨勢，而在都會地區雖有明顯變動的情形，但整體而言仍呈現舒緩的現象。在組織規模方面的比較，私部門在不同組織結構中兩性職業區隔呈現逐年下降的趨勢，而在公部門方面，兩性職業區隔則有惡化的情形。

Using both the Duncan and Duncan index of dissimilarity and size-standardized index of dissimilarity, the present study measures the degrees and changes of the occupational sex segregation in Taiwan between 1981and 1999. The results indicate that there was a downward trend of occupational sex segregation in the labor market of Taiwan in recent two decades. Based on the samples from the perspective of work structure, we find that the degrees of occupational sex segregation was decreasing in secondary labor market, but those in upper tier and low tier primary labor markets was increasing among these years. The indexes for the core industry among these years apparently decline, but the index is unstable in the peripheral industry. Though the index is also unstable in the urban areas, but in general the indexes for the urban areas decline; while stably decline in the areas of country. To the size of organization, the indexes gradually decline from year to year in private sectors, but are apparently unstable in public sectors.
