Political instability has been shown to significantly impact a country’s tourism industry worldwide. The coup d’etats in 2006 had led to an ongoing political upheaval which has continued to present day. Since 2008 the number of tourists’ arrival has been steadily decreasing tourist arrivals in the country. While it has not yet caused Thai a negative impact in term of tourism growth, since 2008 Thailand’s Tourism industry has consistently fall short of it predicted growth. It is deemed worthwhile to investigate the short and long term impact of Thailand’s political instability has on its tourism sector. A self-made questionnaire, piloted and validated via a Cronbanch Alpha will be used to gather data on tourists in Bangkok as to their perception of how, actually, the decisions of tourists to travel (or not) to Thailand. Data gathered will be analyzed using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) as well as Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS).
