本研究以我國23家壽險公司1998年至2010年的資料為樣本，先以資料包絡法(DEA)與麥氏生產力分析(MPI)來分析壽險公司的經營績效，再將台灣壽險業分為三個群體，本國與外商壽險公司、實施併購過與未實施併購過的壽險公司、金控體系下與非金控體系下的壽險公司，並進一步以Tobit迴歸分析檢視壽險公司參與銀行保險通路程度與投資型商品比例，對於經營績效的影響。結果發現壽險公司涉入銀行保險通路程度越高，對其技術效率、純技術效率與規模效率都有顯著的正面影響，而壽險公司增加投資型商品的銷售比例對於公司並無顯著的影響，而三個群體裡，金控體系下的壽險公司在其技術效率、純技術效率與規模效率都有顯著的正面影響。而實施過併購的壽險公司與本國壽險公司都擁有較佳的技術效率，但是並不顯著，進一步拆解可知，實施過併購的壽險公司與本國壽險公司在規模效率都有顯著正向效果，但是在純技術效率上卻有較差的表現。

This paper investigates the efficiency of life insurer who involved Bancassurance activities and Investment-linked insurance in a total 23 life insurance companies from year 1998 to 2010.
The methodology applied are Data Envelopment Analysis(DEA) method and Malmquist Productivity Index (MPI) which use to evaluate the efficiency changes during the sample period, as well as the influence to operating performance under three situations of companies, local versus foreign , financial holding versus non-holding ,M&A versus non-M&A are discussed. A Tobit regression employ further to analyze the influence of Bancassurance and Investment-linked insurance on life insures’ efficiency performance.
The results show that Bancassurance play an important role influencing the efficiency of performance for life insurance companies. Specifically, Bancassurance has positive impacts on technical efficiency, scale efficiency and pure technical efficiency. However, the higher the investment-type proportion has no significant impact on life insurers’ efficiency performance.
Moreover, among of all three groups, the financial holding has positive impacts on technical efficiency, scale efficiency and pure technical efficiency, and the M&A. The local life insurance companies have better technical efficiency, though it shows not significant. Meanwhile on further dismantling shows that both in scale efficiency has a significant positive effect, but in the pure technical efficiency there is poor performance.
