During the past few years, many remote aboriginal elementary schools in Yilan are actively promoting football and traditional dance and performing distinctively in the national multi-sport competition. Most of these aboriginal elementary schools preserve and promote Taiwan aboriginal dance, by which showing the turning point of tribal life and building the aborigines their self-identity and confidence. Experiencing the cultures of minority groups of China, students can increase their knowledge and further enrich their global vision to inject vigor into the aboriginal community and raise their living quality as well. In this Sport & Culture experience exchanging activities, we can spread Taiwan aboriginal cultural art activities to China not only exalting Atayal culture but also prompting the learning of sports and culture of China. The study method of this thesis uses historical method, literature analysis and interview for research. I adopt historical method to trace the course of sports exchanges between Taiwan and China and explore the development context of soccer and dance of the aboriginal elementary schools in Yilan. The literature analysis is used to know how the exchanging activities and policies influence the sports development in the aboriginal schools. There are two interview methods being used in this research: focusing group interview and in-depth interview. This research is focusing on soccer and Atayal traditional dance. The following is being discussed in sequence: the history of cross-strait sports exchanging activities, the research on cross-strait sports exchanging activities, and the relevance between sports exchanging activities and the education objective of the aboriginal elementary schools. The research finds out that the education units which apply for handling cross-strait exchanging activities indeed achieve the school education objectives and really make a good interaction with the parents and the education organizations. However, the inconsistency among each government organization affects the mutual trust between education and government organizations and causes the uncertainty of preparation because of the funds. Besides, there is no political intent for the exchanging application. It is surely able to reach the education objectives through the efforts of members of the Legislative Yuan and the travel agencies and the different exchanging activities applied by each sport associations.
