本研究的主要目的是探討護生資訊尋求行為與其利用圖書館的情形,希望能夠了解護生資
訊需求的類別,護生找尋資訊的行為,護生找尋資訊過程中可能碰到的挫折,護生利用圖書
館的現況以及其對圖書館利用技能與對圖書館利用教育課程實施上的想法等問題.研究結
果可供相關醫護學校圖書館在規劃護生圖書館利用教育課程之參考.本研究以國立台北護
理學院二年制.四年制護理系之二年級護生為研究對象,採用深入訪談的研究方法,每次和
受訪護生晤談時間至少在四十分鐘以上,訪談調查時間為八十七年二月至五月,共計有八十
名護生接受訪談.綜合每次的訪談記錄,再輔以非參與觀察和相關文件資料來進行資料的歸
納,整理與分析,並針對結果提出看法與建議.研究結果發現,護生的資訊需求主要是準備課
堂作業,實習報告以及個人興趣.護生對護理專業知識及未來發展的資訊並不感興趣.當護
生有資訊需求時,大部份的護生會先查尋圖書館的光碟資料庫系統,其次是架上瀏覽和參閱
教科書.護生取得資訊的主要來源有北護學院圖書館,其他類型圖書館,請教同學,教科書等
.在資訊尋求行為過程中最讓護生感到困擾的是缺乏資訊檢索的技巧,其次分別是來自圖書
館管理上的問題以及護生語力能力等.在護生利用圖書館情形方面,大部份護生表示會不定
期使用圖書館,而利用圖書館的主要原因是查資料和借還書;使用的資料類型以圖書和期刊
最多.大部份護生在使用網路資源和線上公用目錄時會感到困難.受訪護生一致認為找尋資
料所應具備的圖書館用技能非常重要且認為需要培該方面的技能,對圖書館利用教育的上
課內容則希望著重在使用電腦的能力;在圖書館利用教育課程的實施方式上,與系科課程結
合和單獨開設圖書館利用課程是較為護生接受的方式.
The main purpose of this study was to find out the information-seeking behavio
r and library use patterns of the nursing students. The survey explored proble
ms about information needs, information-seeking behavior, the difficulties of
information-seeking, library use patterns and teh views of library skills and
library user education of the nursing students. The result could gather data w
hich would guide medical & nursing schools'' library in the development of libr
ary user education program for nursing students. This study surveyed second ye
ar nursing students of the Department of Nursing, National Taipei College of N
ursing. The method of this study was in-depth interview. In the period of this
investigation, each interview lasted for fouty minutes. The investigation wer
e conducted from February through May, 1997. Finally, eighty nursing students
were interviewed. Data analysis were based on the interview records and other
materials and statistics. Some suggestions were proposed from results of this
investigation. Results of this study shows that nursing students most often ne
ed information in relation to preparing coursework, patient-care paprers and t
heir own personal interest. They were least interested in information that rel
ated to professioal knowledge and future development of nursing. When nursing
students had information needs, they would firstly search CD-ROM system in the
library, and then shelve-browsing and textbook-referencing. NTCN︼ibrary, oth
er libraries, their nursing colleagues and textbook were the main sources of i
nformation. The Difficulties of information-seeking of nursing students came f
rom lacking information skills, and the the problems of library management, la
nguage ability and so on. Nusing students claimed to visit library irregularly
. Searching and lending books were the most popular reasons for library-visiti
ng. Books and journal articles were the most used forms of information. Respon
ednts suggested a need for instruction in use of World Wide Web (WWW) and Onli
ne Public Access Catalog (OPAC). Consistently, nursing students considered the
importance and necessary of library skills and hoped library user education p
rogram will emphasize on the use of computers and networks. Types of library u
ser education program were accepted by nursing students to combine with nursin
g curriculum and to create a library use education program.
