A procedure is designed for studying the applications of network attached storage (NAS) in the digital content industry. Due to the fast development of internet, vast amount of digital content including films, music, and E-learning products were produced and are full of commercial value. By analyzing the development process of digital television and digital content industry, the characteristics of NAS and its applications to broadcasting several of digital content were discussed. Two case companies being the digital content providers are discussed and analyzed using the SWOT analysis. By comparing with these two vendors, we pointed out the limitation of commercial value of NAS; nevertheless, we propose a new collaboration business model for NAS vendors with digital content providers, which may help improve its commercial values.
